The Amaluha story
About Us
I was nine years old the first time I used my mom's Pfaff machine.
The result was a pink & white Brigitte Bardot
checked cotton ballet dress.
Sweet Mary….. I rocked in the ballet class!
My path took me to Tillskærer Akademin in Copenhagen in 1990 followed by a long apprenticeship in Malmö.
My dream was realized when I opened my first tailor shop
-Ballroom- in Malmö/Copenhagen 2001.
Since then, a lot has happened, from traveling the globe
starting a family, shifting careers, to totally quitting
the fashion business in 2015.
But….. once a craftsman, always a craftsman.
I missed the craft so much that I returned to my beloved profession and founded Amaluha in 2022.
The brand is my way of creating unique garments, (bags and pillowcases) with vintage-textile treasures that are found
in all possible corners of the globe.
It’s my utmost joy to tell their stories and my way
to contribute with a sustainable slow fashion approach.
Owning one of my items should feel like a big hug
it should be fun and happy no matter if you want to dry up
getting cozy and warm after a surf, winter dipper or just
having your first cup of coffee in the morning
watching the sun rise. Wearing a Amaluha robe will definitely make you rethink the way you experience the outdoor.
I create all of my handmade Scandinavian style garments in a small fisher village – Skåre located on the south coast of Skåne in Sweden where I live with my 2 beautiful teenage sons and part time dog Spökis.
