I was nine years old the first time I sat down at my mom’s
Pfaff sewing machine. The result? A pink-and-white checked Brigitte Bardot
ballet dress. Sweet Mary… I rocked that ballet class!
That spark led me to the Tailoring Academy in Copenhagen in
1990, followed by years of apprenticeship and eventually opening my own shop, Ballroom,
in 2001. Life happened—I traveled the globe, started a family, and even walked
away from the fashion industry entirely in 2015.
But once a craftsman, always a craftsman.
I missed the hum of the machine and the feel of the fabric
too much to stay away. I founded Amaluha in 2022 to get back to what I love:
hunting down vintage textile treasures from all corners of the globe and giving
them a new life.
Every piece I make is a one-off. It’s my way of choosing
slow, soulful craft over mass-produced noise.
Owning an Amaluha piece should feel like a big hug. It’s
made to be fun and easy, whether you’re drying off after a winter dip, warming
up post-surf, or just waking up with your first cup of coffee while the sun
starts a new day.
I handmade every garment right here in Skåre, a small
fishing village on the south coast of Sweden, where I live with my two sons and
our part-time dog, Spökis.
Join me and ride the swell.
